An awareness night around addiction and mental health presented by local community group CARMHA (Connect & Recover from Mental Health and Addiction) with the focus on real life experiences from the local community. It will be introduced by Dr Marie Oppeboen and addiction counsellor Donal Ryan. Ex Tipperary Hurler John Leahy and ex Limerick hurler Ciaran Carey will tell their own personal stories of addiction, mental health and recovery and there will be a memorial marking of local people who have lost their lives through addiction along with a panel discussion and the personal stories of addiction, mental health and recovery told by 2 members of CARMHA.
Afterwards there will be mingling over tea, coffee and refreshments with opportunities to speak to other members of Carmha about Dual Diagnosis Issues.
