It’s hard to believe we are heading towards autumn where has this year gone? Over the summer months we have been busy decorating and getting the building in shape for the autumn season. We have an exciting 4 months planned between here and Christmas. Music wise we have some old favourites such as Johnny McEvoy and Dublin City Ramblers both making a welcome return and really looking forward to Donal Lunny and Mick Hanley in November. Ritchie Remo a rising country and western star from Northern Ireland is one not to miss, for Jazz lovers we have Emilie Conway Jazz Quintet, a Bee Gees tribute act and Emer Quinn will be with us just before Christmas. 6 new plays visiting the Arts Centre over the season including Aidan Dooley’s amazing Tom Crean back with us in October, audiences cant get enough of it!The Nenagh Players are in for a week in November with their latest stage offering. Two festivals in October starting the month with Dromineer Literary Festival and finishing the month with Spleodar Halloween Arts Festival lots of great events to look forward at that. An extensive European and Irish film season starting out with Loving featuring Limerick’s Ruth Negga, the best foreign language film for 2017 The Salesman a cracking film full of suspense. All film tickets just a fiver!
Finally, Culture Night is on Friday September 22 we have 2 special events with a Tipperary theme. At 7.30 The Bold Brigid Cleary. This one woman show describes the life and events which led to the death of Brigid Cleary. At 9pm we have a series of short films shot in Tipperary portraying everyday life from the distant past (more detail in the brochure). Both events are FREE.
