Pottery Making For Parent & Young Child with Thomas Wollen

Age 4-7
Tickets €10 (plus booking fee of €1 per transaction)

Venue: Nenagh Arts Centre

Learning some simple pinching and mould making techniques to create a vessel such as a bowl, cup or vase. the pieces will also be decorated and finished. The finished pieces will them be taken away to glaze and fire them and may be collected from the Arts Centre a week later.
No experience is necessary as each step and technique will be clearly explained during the
workshop.

Must be accompanied by an adult.

Graffiti Classics Workshop

Venue: Nenagh Arts Centre

Featuring two violins, a viola and, unusually, a double-bass, Graffiti's virtuosic players adapt the workshop to the specific needs of each group of children. All workshops are tailored around the National Curriculum's music syllabus.

Children will leave the performance having learnt about:
The String Family
• Musical Terms
• Dynamics
• Time Signatures
• Rhythmic Clapping
• Each individual instrument and it's attributes
• Composers and Musical Styles
• Colours and Textures in the music

Tots Storytelling with Roisin Meaney

Roisin Meaney (Kerry born, Limerick based) likes making up stuff. So far she’s made up enough stuff to fill fourteen adult books and two books for children. She also tells stories to small people and gives writing workshops to slightly bigger people. She is a fan of cats, chocolate and
kindness, and she likes to dance to happy music in her pyjamas when nobody is looking. (She’s not a very good dancer.)

Animation Workshop Cartoon Saloon

The multi-award-winning Cartoon Saloon, producers of Oscar nominated film, The Secret of Kells, make their first visit to Nenagh to host a very special illustration and design workshop.
Learning the magic behind the skills of animation with one of Cartoon Saloons most talented
animators. An afternoon designed to inspire and delight young minds. Aimed to provide the basic tools needed for a beginner to discover a career in animation. The workshops will be based on the making of Song of the Sea and by the end, each child will have a great understanding of the movie making process before the movie starts.

A fantastic show for all the family. 16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices with 1 aim: to make classical music wickedly funny and fantastically exhilarating for audiences everywhere!

From Beethoven to Bluegrass, Baroque to Pop, Mozart or Offenbach to Elvis, Strauss to Saturday Night Fever, there really is something for everyone and Graffiti Classics never fails to get audiences laughing, clapping and singing along. Kids and adults alike love the uplifting and virtuosic variety of musical styles, all tied together with cheeky audience interaction.

Creative Writing Workshop with Roisin Meaney

Spend 90 minutes working on a series of tasks and writing exercises designed to stimulate
imagination and encourage better writing practices. Areas covered will include where to find
original ideas, plotting a story, creating characters, opening sentences, and use of detail to add
interest. A handout with reminders of what was covered will be provided to take away.
